Shirei David - שירי דוד

 Every Parashat Vayeshev, the story of Yosef comes to light. A famous kseda was composed in his honour and is famously recorded by Jo Amar z"l. The words are in Arabic and I'm not fluent enough to recite it. But here's the tune to it in Yigdal and can also be adapted to El Adon or Kadish.

This is the original song where we sing "Kedushat Shabbat" when Aliya Maftir goes up to the Torah on Shabbat. Easy to learn. It's from the Bakashot of Parashat Vayeshev. Maqam is El Maya.

Arguably the most popular Moroccan Andalusian song to date. It's a guarantee that if you can sing this song you'll have the whole room clapping and dancing to your liking. The song builds as gets faster as it goes. The first stanza "Kumi Yehidati" can be sang to Kedusha or Kadish really nicely. You can even follow the second part of the Kadish with the remaining melodies of this piyut. The climax of this son is the nay-na-nay in the middle which its melody is often used to sing "VaAni Tefilati" during Minha of Shabbat. What can I say? I love this song. Maqam - El Maya
