Shirei David - שירי דוד

In one of the more powerful prayers of the year, the Jewish world begins mentioning rain in their daily prayers beginning Musaf on Shemini Atzeret. The Moroccan version of this prayer is truly beautiful.

This piyut in honour of Shemini Atzeret is the same tune as LaEl Adom VeTzah which is sung on Pesah. I sing this piyut on the night of Shemini Atzeret and I follow it with Kadish.

This is the most classic song sung during the Holiday of Sukkot. I record it to two melodies: Moroccan and Yerushalmi. One can use this tune for any quatrain during the Tefila as it goes with pretty much all parts of the prayer service. Sukka Velulav Moroccan Melody Sukka Velulav Yerushalmi Melody
