 Hi everyone, I recently recorded a new Az Yashir Moshe in maqam "mzmoum" - often sang on Shabbat Teruma but I like singing it throughout the year. Also, I recorded Birkat HaLevana sung in Moroccan Tehilim Melody. Lastly, given that it's Rosh Hodesh this week, I finally recorded the traditional "Barechi Nafshi" that is said prior to Arvit and at the end of Shaharit. See below.

As mentioned in previous posts of Az Yashir Moshe, hazanim often sing the shira to different maqamim weekly. Recorded here is the shira to the maqam of Raml Maya. The first third is recorded to the tune of Dodi Yarad Legano of Parashat Bereshit/Lech Lecha. The second third (nashafta) is the tune of Bene Elyon and the final third is a faster melody in the maqam. For Az Nivhalu I add an additional tune that can be sung but it's not necessary. This melody of Az Yashir Moshe is divided into 3 parts: RASD - Dodi Yarad Legano of Parashat Zachor PETIHA - zidane HIJAZ - same tune of Letzur Goalenu for Pesah I always sing this "shira" on Shabbat Zachor as well as the first day Yom Tov for Pesah and Sukkot. There are times I sing it on other Shabbatot as well.

Shabbat Shira is always a beautiful week in synagogue. The bakashot are spectacular and the hazan will fill the room with some of the most beautiful melodies to sing. It has become a staple in synagogue's around the world that Shabbat Parashat Beshalah is known as a day of song and joy. Moroccan Jews have the custom to add special lines preceding the recital of Az Yashir Moshe specifically on Shabbat Beshalah. They are sung in the same traditional tune as Az Yashir Moshe. The song Ashira Keshirat Moshe can be found here: ( Az Yashir Moshe is below ) French Moroccan Jews were accustomed to sing different melodies for Az Yashir Moshe for every week with different maqamim. (For example see HERE  in maqam zarka). They would only sing the traditional tune for Shabbat Beshalah. Spanish Moroccan Jews almost always sang the traditional tune and only on the Hagim did the paytanim change the tune. Whichever group you belong to, knowing the traditional tune for Az Yashir Moshe...

This traditional Az Yashir Moshe is comprised of three different tunes in Maqam (note) Zarka that can also be sung to the following words: 1. Any quatrain (4 lined-stanza) song (eg. Ki Eshmera Shabbat) 2. Yefe Nof 3. Shaar Petah Dodi (which can be found  HERE )
